My folks owned a restaurant for 30 plus years. they sold it, and my mom went back to work as a cook for the new owners. She worked until 2 months before she died, after having suffered with stage 4 lung cancer for 2 years. That is right, 2 years. My dad would get up every morning, at 5:30 am, take her to work, have coffee with her, then go back home and go to bed for an hour or two. This right up until 2 months before she died. Oh, the important thing, she was 79 years old, and he was 86. He died one year plus one day later, after her. I still miss them, but know that if there is a God in heaven, they are having coffee and watching the sun come up, every day.
