What is it going to take?

Seriously, what? I've been doing this since October 2012, I'm a couple of days away from 2 million hits, and yet I've never had a 5000 hit day. I came close yesterday at 4831, but that was a combination of wirecutter linking to a post and overwhelming hits on Midnight Pearls.

So I ask you, glorious readers, what am I going to have to post to have a 5000 hit day?

Umm, posting things your Pappy would disown you for would work, I'm sure of it. However, do not go down that road, use your intellect instead, you have it and can manage it, I've seen it. And no, I am not patronizing, just observing the truth.

I would have to switch from Malbec to Patron before I could go full frontal.

...but you won't, you have too much class!

The pearls post would have done even better if the middle two had been gingers.

Men do pay attention to the accoutrements y'all spend so much time selecting to accessorize properly, despite what women seem to think ...

Hmm, I would say a full frontal, but then you would look like a cheap slut like the rest, you have class, keep it, you are far more sexy and mysterious being a lady... It gives us, those who spend time in the corner a reason to use our imagination... Mae West never did a full frontal and look how provocative she was.

Don't know. I hit your site at least twice a day. Maybe nothing but pearls? Maybe more stories from your youth. Or more politics?

Who the heck would find this un-Patriotic? But students can vote to remove the American flag from the grounds of a School? But people can burn the flag? Where the flag as a bathing suit/ bikini or boxers.
Here the child is bring cradled by the flag, as though being protected by the flag. As a Soldier and veteran, the daughter and granddaughter of veterans, a sister, niece and cousin of veterans, I find this photo beautiful and poignant.

I am the flag of the United States of America
My name is Old Glory.

I fly atop the world's tallest buildings.
I stand watch in America's halls of justice.
I fly majestically over great institutes of learning.
I stand guard with the greatest military power in the world.
Look up! And see me!

I stand for peace, honor, truth, and justice.
I stand for freedom.
I am confident . . . I am arrogant.
I am proud.

When I am flown with my fellow banners,
my head is a little higher,
my colors a little truer.

I bow to no one.
I am recognized all over the world.
I am worshipped.
I am saluted.
I am respected.
I am revered. I am loved.
And I am feared.

I have fought every battle of every war for more than 200 years...
Gettysburg, Shilo, Appomatox, San Juan Hill, the trenches of France,
the Argonne Forest, Anzio, Rome, the beaches of Normandy,
the deserts of Africa, the cane fields of the Philippines,
the rice paddies and jungles of Guam, Okinawa, Japan, Korea, Vietnam,
and a score of places long forgotten by all but those who were with me.

I was there!

I led my soldiers.
I followed them.
I watched over them...
They loved me.
I was on a small hill in Iwo Jima.
I was dirty, battle-worn and tired,
but my soldiers cheered me,
and I was proud.

I have been soiled, burned, torn and trampled on the streets of countries
I have helped set free.
It does not hurt . . . for I am invincible.
I have been soiled, burned, torn and trampled on the streets of my country,
and when it is by those with whom I have served in battle . . . it hurts.
But I shall overcome . . . for I am strong.

I have slipped the bonds of Earth
and stand watch over the uncharted new frontiers of space
from my vantage point on the moon.

I have been a silent witness to all of America's finest hours.
But my finest hour comes
when I am torn into strips to be used for bandages
for my wounded comrades on the field of battle.
when I fly at half mast to honor my soldiers...
and when I lie in the trembling arms
of a grieving mother at the graveside of her fallen son.

I am proud.
My name is Old Glory.
Dear God . . . Long may I wave!

Well, based on your lead story, I'll swing by and tell you I'm voting HRC in '16 and let you try to talk me out of it.

Recounting that tale in text and pictures should get you over the 5k mark.

I am ecstatic if I get a few hundred hits a day.

BW, give it time. It took me months to get my first 1000 day. You've got good stuff, fun to read. Keep going.

Thanks however I am not all that concerned. I am just happy anyone reads any of it. It is a hobby that I am still seeing what direction it will take.
