Vice President Joe Biden indicated Wednesday that the president will be able to take executive action to combat gun violence as he kicked off one of several meetings this week in response to the Newtown shooting.
"We're here today to deal with a problem that requires immediate action, urgent action," Biden said at the start of a meeting with leaders from gun control groups and several victims of gun violence.
"The president is going to act. There are executive orders, executive action that can be taken. We haven't decided what that is yet, but we're compiling it all ... as well as legislative action, we believe, is required," he said.

The truly maddening part is reading the Libtards' comments. They are GLEEFULLY anticipating .gov's crushing of Free Patriots. Of course, none of them would be caught dead with an evil weapon in their hands and the blood of Patriots at their feet. But they are truly looking forward to the destruction of, as one stated "free men (whatever that's supposed to mean)". The fact that this asswipe has no idea the meaning of Free Men indicates he has no idea what the Forefathers intended to be the lives of Patriots. It saddens and sickens me that our Liberal Education system has turned such a large part of the American population into willing slaves of the State. God help us all.

I think there's very little chance of a happy ending to this the way its playing out.
And I don't think they are so ham handed as to try for outright confiscation (not that they wouldn't want to). Instead, I think the smart money is on them overshooting what they would be happy with and then allowing themselves to be "bargained down". The end product will look like a "compromise solution" to Joe Blow on the street. Even though Joe looses more rights and gets nothing in return.
Its like when they reduce the amount of increased spending they were going to do in the upcoming year and call it a "spending cut". most of the public eats stuff like that up even though it makes no sense when you stop and think about it.
I could be wrong, though... and they might decide to go for broke and grab the brass ring all at once. No matter which way it goes though, I'm probably not going to like it. Its like decided whether I prefer being punched in the throat or kicked in the nards.
Considering the only "pro-rights" group they're talking to is the NRA, and I question the NRAs abilites or focus, I hold out very little hope for a "reasonable" (read no change) outcome.
And NEVER underestimate Obama's narcissism. In his mind, he's already Supreme Emperor with a "clear mandate" to do as he pleases. Constitution be damned. This is "his" country now.
Oh, I'm sure Biden will have some private gun owners there too in addition to the NRA. You know, strong supporters of the 2nd amendment who used to hunt gophers with their Grandpas with .22s when they were 12 years old but who think army guns with big clips don't belong on the street.
That way we know the solution they come up with will be balanced. And Fair. Can't forget the Fair part. It has to be balanced and fair just like the Fiscal Cliff Budget agreement was balanced and fair. I just hope they don't forget and come out with the magical stop gun violence plan, which they already have ready to go, *before* they are done with the photo ops.
That would be embarassing.

When the magician does any trick, he always makes us look somewhere else. If everyone is focusing on guns, what is the President’s real objective? A nuclear Iran, the destruction of Israel, a third term?
In my mind every "gun control" law ever written is unconstitutional. Period.
Having said that, I will give them those who have been "adjudicated" mentally incompetent and I will give them VIOLENT felons not being able to own firearms. That is as far as I will go.
