When seconds count...

and you know the rest.

verbatim

The Amarillo Police Department is investigating an early Sunday morning shooting that has left a woman fighting for her life.

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- It happened in the 200 block of South Florida around 5:47 a.m. Police officials say the 28-year old female victim called 9-1-1 to report a man was standing in front of her car and was refusing to leave. Upon officers arrival, they found 29-year old Brandon Allen Stallings standing in the alley next to the victim's car.

As the officers approached Stallings, police say he then pointed a handgun at the victim's car and fired multiple times into the windshield. The victim was struck several times by the bullets. She was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital with what police say are life-threatening injuries. Stallings dropped the gun and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit officers were able to arrest Stallings. He's been booked into the Potter County Jail on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Evading Arrest. Police say it's suspected that Stallings is the victims ex-boyfriend. Their investigation into the incident continues.

*****
Okay, let that sink in. She called the cops. She waited in her car for the cops to arrive. Her accoster stood outside the car, also waiting for the cops to arrive. When the cops arrived, he shot her several times.  WHAT. THE. FUCK?

Put the car into drive and get the fuck out of Dodge. Lawfully own a handgun and use it to your defense. But don't freaking sit there with a man who scared you enough to call the cops and wait to see what happens next.

Things like this piss me off to the nth degree.

It is amazing how many people do the opposite. We have received numerous calls from the public on the highways declaring that such-and-such driver "pointed a gun at me". The next phrase we can expect to hear? "I'm following him."

You're right, that is the full circle of insanity. My natural survival instinct is to stay as far away from trouble as possible. And if I can't avoid it or get away from it, to fight like Hell.

I know what you would have done. You would have run his ass over, then put it in reverse and run over him again. Then you would have got out of the car and double tapped his ass for good measure. Being a victim is not an option!

Aww, cranky, you know me so well. :-D That was my first grin of the day.

The average response time for the police is 23 minutes. The response time for a .357 SJHP is 1400ft/s.

Make your choice now, judged by 12 or carried by 6.

I always said that if you think a 45 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol) has stopping power, you should see what an 87 ACP (Automatic Chevy Pickup) can do.
Different vehicle, same principle.

Drop the vehicle in gear, duck down and pin that motherfucker to whatever's behind him and in front of you.

Late post (been browsing OlderPosts), but don't forget that in the state of Texass, it IS LEGAL to carry a loaded handgun in your vehicle. It was added to the Castle Doctrine a few years back. You don't have to have a license. They even thoughtfully included a blurb that authorizes an un-licensed person to carry a firearm from their private vehicle into private property, as long as there are no stops in between (check the mail, talk to the neighbor, crap on your neighbor's lawn, etc). While waiting on my CHL to process, this is how I carry. A piece in the glove box in the parking lot is better than one in the sock drawer at home.
