Arizona is the same way. You can be driving in blazing sunshine, watching it pour cats and dogs 3 blocks ahead of you.

Same way in Northern Illinois.

Any place on the Great Plains, really. I've seen it in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Eastern Colorado and North-Eastern New Mexico.

Alberta as well.

My favorite AZ weather phenomena is the sun-thunder storm.

I've seen a sun-shower, but here it'll be raining like the end of the world in the late afternoon and 30 miles west it's clear.
You get a bright, sunshiney, end of the world thunder and lighting storm.

Like today, indeed. We are in the DFW area. Our daughter is away on vacation, so wife and I volunteered to take turns dog-sitting her Corgi. Short legs, high water, bad combo. Best to wait it out before going out for walk.

The difference being we Canuckis ignore trifles like weather. Mowing the lawn is vastly more important.

Silly weak Texans, you need a bit of Arctic air moving south in a big hurry, a really bug hurry, a gigantic GigaGigaJoule hurry, to show you what is a real storm.
