This is where I am on the Kerodins

I'm not going to post about the Kerodins again until after wirecutter's case is settled. I think this is something that has very definite boundaries, very few fence sitters; and quite frankly, I'm so bored with it. We know who's in the right and who's in the wrong. We know the right and proper outcome of the specious court cases against Ken Lane. We know. And after the cases are dismissed, my mouth to God's ears, we'll have something new to discuss. But for now, let's give it a rest, huh? There's so much more going on in the world for us to chew on, let's stop beating a dead horse.

Anyone want to take a crack at these?

I mean other than, "Girl, you are batshit crazy!" Here are my Top 3 Recurring Nightmares.

At #1 The School Nightmare

There are variations on the theme, different ages, etc. but the general nightmare has me realizing I'm almost late to class, it's a class in which I didn't know I was enrolled and have never attended, and it's the Final which counts 80% of the final grade. I don't know where it's being held, don't know the teacher, but I know I have a text and notes in my locker (even when it's set in college), but I don't know where my locker is. My entire dream is me trying to figure out where to go and what I need to know. If I fail, I don't get my degree, this is the last class.
My last graduation was 1991, so 24 years? I received my MA with a 3.95 GPA. And this dream still scares the shit out of me.

Nightmare #2 Backseat Driver

In this one, I find myself driving through a major city from the backseat of the vehicle. I'm not really sure how I'm working the pedals or steering, just that I'm doing okay. My fear is being discovered. People discovering that I'm not driving properly, legally, etc.

Nightmare #3 Claustrophobic Cute Chick

As soon as she could walk, Teen Queen was a traveler. If she could get out, she was gone. By 3, she could open any lock, any gate. I was forever chasing after her. This nightmare has us out in Palo Duro Canyon near the sandstone caves. These are very tight caves, and sandstone is notoriously unstable. I am horribly claustrophobic, to the point I panic if I can't get my head through the neck of a sweater quickly. TQ takes off running to the caves and crawls into one, I'm hot on her heels but it feels like I'm running in deep sand. She's crawling in the cave, me crawling behind her trying not to panic. She's just ahead of me, I can touch her foot but not grab it. As we go deeper, the cave gets smaller until we're both wedged in. TQ starts crying and panicking, then the sandstone walls start caving on us. I'm trying desperately to reach her foot and drag her out, the walls are caving in faster. Just as it all goes black, I wake up screaming. I haven't had this one in a while, but when I do, I don't go back to sleep.

Okay folks, there's a few dark corners of my psyche. Knock yourselves out.

Miss Lisa is back!!!!

Yes, wirecutter's better half has her own blog. She took a little hiatus, but she's back at it. If you want to know what kind of person it takes to remain happily married to Ken Lane, drop by her blog, leave her some love, and let her know you're glad she's back.

Maybe she'll share some embarrassing things about wc. We can only hope.

Dammit, yes, this is funny

I'm cracking, folks. Three days of sub-freezing temps, no momvan and my family bored and stuck indoors. Normally, I'd have a glass (or bottle) of wine and go with the flow, but spousal unit doesn't approve. So I'm doing this sober. Pray for me.

May the Cork be with you.

Wirecutter's Thank you, in case you missed it

Gracious and humble, as always, which is pretty damned funny for a man with a bigger than life personality. I think Miss Lisa keeps him grounded.

I do love my geeks

A quick and easy brunch idea

I'm thinking breakfast sliders with ham, scrambled eggs and cheese.
Club sliders with ham, turkey and bacon.
So many possibilities....
I'll be in the kitchen.

Blue collar 70s football

I really miss the old football teams, journeymen players who were gladiators,
playing for the love of the game, the competition, the grit and blood and mud.
The John Matusaks, Dick Butkuses, and Rocky Bleiers
who played through the pain, who'd never bitch and whine.
I miss the tough quarterbacks like Roger Staubach and Terry Bradshaw.
Now we've got thugs and hood rats, entitlement mentality players
and I just don't enjoy watching the sport anymore.

Looks like somebody made a rally

Puzzles that make you go "hmmmmm"

I'm sure there's a market for these somewhere

Update: Wirecutter Legal Defense Fund

Sometime during the wee morning hours, Ken's goal was reached and he asked me to shut it down and pull the post, which I did. However, foodgrower had a great comment:

"That is great news and Ken again demonstrates the man he is by not taking advantage of folks generosity.

This also demonstrates how big the real III (and silent III) is and what happens if you even nudge the sleeping giant.

I do however disagree with the decision to pull the post, turn off the request for help by all means once Ken said to, but the original post should be part of the continuing public record of crap coming out of Idaho that taints the entire III.

Folks doing web searches should be able to get both sides of the story of what is going on in Idaho, not just the full court pr job the kerodins are trying to maintain.

And Cavmedic offered this:

"Anonymous said...
Right, you pulled the wirecutter
'titty Tuesday,' T&A idiocy, defense
fund post because the "goal was reached
in less than 24 hours."
Your defense fund post was online barely
a few hours.

So I'd like to address Cav's comment first. The original schedule for the post was 11/26/15 at 10:11 am. It came down at 7:26 am this morning. 21 hours or so. I'm not exactly sure what your beef is, but those are the facts.

And foodgrower, I agree with you, so the post is back up. Ken respectfully and gratefully requests the donations hold up.

Okay folks, you probably read it over at wirecutter's HERE, but I'm going to give you a quick rundown for anyone who doesn't know what's been going on lately. A couple of months ago, some of us Patriots started talking, comparing notes, and coming up with questions about some of the goings on with the Kerodins, specifically III Arms Founding Members funds. Jim Miller posted what he had, Mason Dixon Tactical, wirecutter, and George Patton all posted asking very pertinent clear questions.

Now, growing up, Poppy instilled in me a sense of honor and integrity. If I'm ever questioned on my actions, and I'm innocent, I will answer the questions clearly, with evidence, and expect an apology forthwith. If I'm guilty, and yes, I have been guilty before, this is where the honor and integrity really have to shine. If I'm guilty, honor dictates that I confess and make amends, no matter how much it hurts. If I've done something to offend or hurt someone(s), I am duty bound to admit my guilt and accept the repercussions. Now, human nature is geared towards self defense and many would take the easy way out by lying or deflecting, by accusing someone else or at least offering excuses for their bad behavior. Poppy would have none of that; and believe me, when you realize that actions and choices have repercussions, you're more likely to choose good actions with good results. Sadly, that's not the story of the Kerodins.

Easy questions to answer; if they did nothing wrong, easy enough to prove and it all goes away with apologies. If they did do something wrong, then fess up and take your licks, honor and integrity demand it. So what do they do? They attack Mason Dixon, making false accusations to his employer trying to get him disciplined or fired. Not just underhanded, but outright despicable. All they had to do was answer the damn questions.

And now, they're going after Ken Lane.

Holly Kerodin slapped him with an Order of Protection, which is what the court case was about yesterday. She specifically requested that the court force him to surrender his guns. WTF? Unlike Sam, Ken has NEVER threatened physical violence to anyone, especially the Kerodins. But she's so afraid of Ken, she's demanding the court disarm him. The second case is suing for money for "damaging her reputation". Uh-huh. I think they did a good enough job of that on their own.

But the result of this bullshit is Ken has had to retain a lawyer (who knew his defense fund would need to be activated because of a "fellow Patriot"?) with all the expenses that entails. Not only is this a specious case designed to damage, harass, and potentially disarm Ken, it's an assault on all Patriots. A "warning" not to cross the Kerodins. Don't ask questions, don't look behind the curtain.

This is an attack on all of us, Ken is just paying the price today. Who knows who will be next?

So we're rallying the troops. If you can, please donate. A little means a lot, nobody has to be a hero. Ken is the last person in the world to ask for help, he's one of those TRUE Men who would suck it up and deal with it quietly rather than asking for help. So I know this bugs him, but tough noogies, I'm doing it for all of us. The Kerodins need to know if they attack one of us, they attack ALL of us.

I'm not going to set up a special GoFundMe or anything, just link to his PayPal and mailing address. I know and trust him, and know he'll cut it off when the goal is reached.

As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly

This is an interesting read, an oral history of the backstory to our favorite WKRP in Cincinnati episode, as told by the men who created the show. And who knew? The turkey story is based on a real incident.

Post-Thanksgiving Day Meal Plan

Thanks Giving

Got an email from Ken this morning before he went to work asking me to pull the Wirecutter Defense Fund post, and asking me to thank all my readers who were so generous that he hit his goal in less than 24 hours. Big or small, $5 or $500, the key is "Many hands make light work". When we all pull together, we can move mountains, or stop a petty narcissistic dictator and his paranoid wife.

I will, out of respect for Ken's wishes, pull the post. I will not, out of respect for you, tell you what to do. If you wish to continue to donate, and possibly encourage him to counter-sue, I ain't gonna stop you. I'd love to see the Kerodins have to open their books for the court.

Anyway, this is my Thanks for all the Giving. You folks rock!

I miss sitting at the kids' table

I have a 20-lb turkey thawing, prep for the stuffing, 5 pounds of potatoes to boil and mash, pies to bake, rolls to make, looking at a 4 am start to be ready for the folks to come over for lunch. I hate being an adult at Thanksgiving.

I was the last grandchild to marry and have kids, so up until 26 or so I got to sit at the kids' table. Being a college educated unmarried woman in a highly traditional family, they all assumed I couldn't cook, or set a table, or serve, but I was hella good at entertaining the "other kids" and keeping them out from under foot. We'd be outside if it was nice or in the back room playing games if it was too cold. I'd sneak through the kitchen and nab snacks and sodas for the tiny troops; we'd all puppy pile on the floor and watch Cartoon Network until it was time to eat. The kids' table wasn't a squatty little wanna be, it was a full size long folding table with folding chairs, and towards the end of my reign, there were 8 of us, ranging from 3 to 26. I would help them get their plates filled, cut turkey and ham into manageable pieces, and have "See Food" battles with the boys. I always won those because I had a bigger mouth and could stuff more food in there. Annie was the baby, just barely 3 that last Thanksgiving born two days after my birthday. She was my favorite cousin's only girl, bless her, she had 3 big brothers (see See Food battles). Annie would climb into my lap and eat off my plate, happily humming and giggling. She's the reason I changed from, "Kids? No fucking way." to "OMG! I have GOT to get me a couple of these critters!"

While the adults were busy discussing politics, bills, crops, jobs, etc, we were discussing weighty issues like who was the best Ninja Turtle, frog gigging, fishing, Santa Claus and what we wanted for Christmas. We'd wear our very un-PC Indian headbands that we made while waiting for dinner, and talk in very un-PC Indian "ug" talk. And then, when the turkey and ham and at least two green beans were consumed, we whined and pestered Grandma Doris to let us cut the pies. Being the oldest, I was in charge of the Redi-Whip can. Bad judgment on their part. Not one child got away without a mouthful of whipped cream, or two.

Dinner consumed, eyelids heavy, I rallied my little troops to clear their plates to the kitchen, carefully scraping the scraps into the pig slop bucket, and headed them back to the playroom for naps. Me in the middle of the puppy pile, blissfully happy in my lack of adult responsibilities.

Damn, I miss sitting at the kids' table.

Why stop at 1?

I think Rosie O'Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg have room for 7 or 8 refugees a piece. Hell, George Clooney and his blushing bride could take a dozen, fat boy Michael Moore can turn over his numerous homes to refugees. You know, put his money where his mouth is, might lose some weight. Who else needs some refugees?

I consider this "foreplay"

Must be California again

With "Live  Demonstrations Daily" y'all!

Feminism jumps the shark. Again.

"In Karen Keller's kindergarten classroom, boys can't play with Legos. They can have their pick of Tinkertoys and marble tracks, but the colorful bricks are "girls only."
"I always tell the boys, 'You're going to have a turn' — and I'm like, 'Yeah, when hell freezes over' in my head," she said. "I tell them, 'You'll have a turn' because I don't want them to feel bad.""
This woman would not be allowed to walk my dog, let alone teach my child.
More insanity HERE.

My OCD just exploded

When I win the lottery

This will also be the site for
Camp Freedom for boys and girls 8-18,
and the most badass blogger blowout the world has ever seen.

I missed my calling

Many moons ago, I was a pre-law student.
I'd proven my elocution and debate skills,
and I was ready to take on the world.
And then I met Kerry Trent.
Who was a DJ on the campus radio station.
And I graduated Magna Cum Laude with the
second most worthless Fine Arts degree
next to Dance.

For the last time, leggings are NOT pants

50 Shades of Soap

I see what you did there

This has got to be the best shitty wrapping job ever.

Brought a tear to my eye

We should have a special day

When all alumni who live in the real world
get to go back to their alma maters and slap the shit out of some whiny ass entitled special snowflake on campus.
Call it "Welcome to the Real World" Day.

Don't know why, but I want one

Angel the Early Years

When I was a little angel, I had a really nice bed covered in
my favorite stuffed toys.
And every night, I'd say goodnight to my group
and curl up in a sleeping bag on the floor next to the bed.
Because, for me to sleep on the bed,
some or all of the toys would have to go and I
didn't want to hurt any of their feelings.

DragonBlasts: Who knew?

Dennis, Master of Leather Holsters, is also a blogger. He's been keeping this quiet, I just found out,  and now I'm telling you! He says he doesn't post very often, but he's got a wealth of posts archived.
From his header, "Ranting, Raving and breathing fire in support of our Right to keep and bear arms."
Sounds like some good stuff, huh? Okay, he's going in the blog roll on the right, but here's a link to help you get started.
