Partial #1 - We don't use credit except for car loans and I'm working toward breaking that habit as well.
#3 whenever possible. If there's a local alternative offering remotely the same service/product/value I go there in a heartbeat. Doesn't have to be as good a deal as the big-box - but it has to be in the ballpark because I'm not a charity either.
#4 - See #3 above. If I don't have to, I don't.
#5 yes. And starting down the trail to being at least a little bit meat/egg independent too :)
If you pay your credit card off every month, it benefits you. You get to float your money for 30 days, you get certain protections also. Never pay interest on a credit card, but I see no problem in using it to your advantage.
I like shopping at Walmart. Low cost chinese is better than high cost chinese.

#4 is a problem for me. As I live in the boondocks, COSTCO, (80 miles away)is a good place for stocking up on certain items. I have not done Wall Mart of K Mart for years.
As for #9, heh, gotta go 75 miles just to see one.
Almost all done with number 1. Already do number 3, 6, 8, 9. Number 4 is hard to do since they have the stuff I need Food, material, equipment, ammo rather cheaply, still. Thanks God the Fast foods have bent over to the green nazis food fascists so much that their food taste terrible, even to our children. But we still go to Wendy's once a month. As for number 10, it is done. The few neighbors that we have are all of the same mindset. Mostly grow their food and share, well armed Veterans, hunters and 2nd amendment enthusiasts And look after one another's home, family and children. As for starting a business, in this great socialist state it would take over 2 years to do so, and even then after all the paper work and money spent, you can easily be rejected by some bureaucrat... So that will have to wait till this State falls on its face economically...

I'm with you Mike on the credit cards. I pay my cabellas off every month and my XD 45 was free from Cabelas.
