San Juan County, Utah strikes back

More people are finding their inner Patriot, standing up and saying, "No, I don't think so." I love the county commissioner's statement: “We are not going to sit idle while the Federal Government destroys the local economy!…It doesn’t sit well with me to say that’s the federal government and there’s nothing we can do about it. We’re actually a government as well.”

Destroying (or at least badly damaging) local economies is exactly what they are trying to do. That causes (at least) 2 things - 1) it makes the locals mad and is especially effective if they can be 'convinced' that the republicans are at fault; 2) it makes even more folks dependent on the largesse of fedzilla - which gives that much more control over local areas to fedzilla. That makes it a 'win-win' for them............

Its basic sleight-of-hand stage-magic. When the illusionist is making dramatic gestures with one hand, keep a close eye on the other hand. That's where stuff is happening. Our recent .gov has figured all of that out (I'd say going back to FDR, maybe before). Get the voters focused on one thing, so that the .gov can slip something in behind the backs of the voters. Get them to hate one another more than they hate the .gov. Simple strategy, works well.
