Can I go to bed now?

Just had a 90 minute battle royale with Teen Queen, bruised, bleeding, head pounding, BP dangerously high and slammed two fingers of scotch without blinking. I'm getting too old for this. I need to be somewhere between Vodka and Drugs on that chart.

Bourbon.

Keep up with the brave face - being a parent often sucks. My teen daughter can be sweet as hell and 10 minutes later be a REAL brat. She's worth the effort though.

I think that "trip to gun range" lies right in that area you're aiming for.

My daughter is the only person on earth that can cause me to become out of control insane!

There was a time when she would do it on a regular basis, until one day I sat her down and explained to her that it won't end well for either of us. After I explained to her that she is the only person that has the ability to make me insane, and that it is only her that can control her behavior, and that it was hurting me, she stopped. I told her straight out that I can't live with someone that is going to manipulate my emotions like that, and that if she continued, one of us was leaving. She was 15 or 16 at the time. We still have normal fights, but she has never intentionally pushed all my buttons since.
Obviously she was using the first power she ever had acquired in life, and then she learned of the consequences of having power.
The closer you are to people, the more they can fuck you up!

Having a 13 year old, I can both sympathize and empathize.

Great comments by timbo. Agreeing with anon (and you, Angel), she is worth it.

Vodka and Red Bull are not a good idea if the BP is already out there. Similar stimuli gave me a stroke. Not really very fun, but it only affected one of the vast parts of my brain I wasn't using anyway. Personally, I'd go for the reefer and some place quiet to chill. Sadly I didn't rear my child. I missed all that turmoil, but to tell you the truth, I don't think she'd be one to fight.
