My Kitchen Beauties

Oh, I have been soooo negligent on this and I am truly ashamed. I received my beautiful Kershaw kitchen knives from Dennis at Kershaw Knives early last week and promptly opened them and just sat in awe. Following is the strip-tease....

Now that right there is some fine kitchen cutlery. I grew up the "clumsy" one; my family did whatever it took to keep sharp objects out of my hands. When I was allowed to help in the kitchen, I was given basically a butter knife. As a grown up, I perpetuated the myth by shying away from quality kitchen knives, thinking surely, if it's sharper than a plastic picnic knife, I'd open an artery. And the kitchen accidents STILL happened.

I have spent a week with these beauties, chopping, slicing, cutting, and still have all my fingertips. I didn't have a single accident because I wasn't FIGHTING THE FOOD. Having a nice, sharp blade that slices cleanly prevents the hacking and frustration of dealing with dull, inferior knives. I absolutely LOVE these things. I'm getting the steak knife set next. No more putting my foot on the meat and gnawing off pieces. I have now graduated to "grown-up" knives.

I'm sorry I don't have any action shots. I couldn't figure out how to set up the camera and use the knives without losing a digit. But trust me, Angel doesn't lie. These are beauties.

Oh baby! You think that's hot, you should see them in action! These are the three basic kitchen knives that no cook should be without.

As in all things, the proper tool makes a hell of difference! Hubs & I had a deal, I never said no to his tools, he never said no to mine. We had a great life together! I miss him, it's 11 months today.
