I coveted this fucker in high school

I was very into my music. Of course, being an 80s girl meant that I had to co-opt music from the 60s and 70s to have anything decent. There were a few good hair bands in my time, Van Halen (original with DLR), Motley Crue, Guns N Roses, but for the most part the 80s sucked musically. I still have my collection of vinyl, can still cue up songs on a turn table, still find myself calling all music "records". I'm old, sue me.

I saw this advertised in Rolling Stone and wanted immediately. I never was able to find one in my little podunk corner of Texas, and Al Gore hadn't invented the internet or Amazon, so I was never able to fulfill my dreams.

Damn, you did have issues, didn't you?
Do you realize the amount of weed you could've gotten for the price of that? I know, they didn't have weed in Texas back then...

You do realize Poppy would have never allowed you on the front porch, right?

Why not? I would've had weed. A friend with weed is a friend indeed.

Aw, handsome, you just answered your own question.
Poppy would have seen trouble in your eyes and sent you packing.

I've never seen that record player, that is cool! Yeah, I have a stack of vinyl albums almost three feet wide when stacked, haven't heard them in years (no turn table, working anyway). Lots of Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Blue Oyster Cult - typical 70's rock.

All that stuff is almost 'Golden Oldie' now, lol. Going to be a hoot at the old folks home, arguing about who stole my Back in Black CD ...

That is awesome! And hell yeah for Van Halen, not Van Hagar...
