A question

(Just an example, not an endorsement of the candidate)

Well, the season is upon us, the campaign ads are flooding the airwaves and I've noticed a common theme locally in the Texas state and national campaigns. Every single Republican candidate here has at least one, and most have more than one, ad proclaiming them to be ready and willing to defend the Constitution of the United States. Mostly the Second Amendment, but there are several that just say "uphold and defend the Constitution". I don't see many Democrat ads here because, well, it'd be pounding money down a rat hole. The Panhandle is more conservative than nun panties.

So how are the ads sounding in your neck of the woods? Anyone else hearing the key phrase "defend the Constitution"? Do you think they're truly getting that this is something that needs to be done? Or are they just using a key phrase to hook the voters?

In Kalifornia? You're fucking kidding, right?
This is the county where a kid was nearly kicked out of Modesto Junior College for passing out copies of the Constitution on - are you ready for this? - Constitution Day.

WC, do y'all have Republican ads there? or is it like Democrat ads down here, they don't waste money appealing to the enemy?

Dunno since we don't have the tv hooked up for that shit. We can do internet or TV and Internet won. Makes you have to look up all the info on candidates instead of listening to sound bites. Hubby is great at finding out the info on what is to be voted on.

Not here in deep south Texas - 80% plus Hispanic vote is solid blue, not many Republicans make it to win an election. I am already sick of the election promise BS that occurs every time. The politiquera still drives in the voters, no change.

if they were so intent on protecting the constitution they would be doing it right now, by impeaching obozo. so its just bs slogans. time for the tar and feathers.

It isn't the ads I mind. I don't watch much TV :)

But the Phone Calls !!! Every single one of the candidates have called; most several times.

Perils of being a registered voter that actually votes.

Oh yeah, and they all are gonna "fight Obama"...Like that's gonna fuckin' happen. They are all criminals, well except Cruz. I'll be soooo glad when this crap is over and we can get back to regular television Viagra commercials. Oh and the new one for Dad's freakin' condom.
