My thoughts and prayers

The southern suburbs of Oklahoma City look like a war zone. The reports are of a mile-wide, EF-4 or EF-5 tornado, and now reports that it leveled an elementary school. I have to believe, being in tornado country, the school districts take tornadoes seriously, as does ours. More money was spent on new storm shelters than the new gym upgrades. They drill constantly, and the first hint of a tornado, the kiddos are herded to safety.

My only hope is that they had time. A tweet mentioned that the tornado was so big, at times it was unrecognizable as a tornado. That's freaking BIG.

Any readers out there in the path of danger, what the fuck?! Get off the blogs and go to shelter. Damn.

Pray to God it was an EF-4. An EF-5 is the finger of God no one survives a direct hit.---Ray

Early reports maybe up to 24 fatalities at the school. 7 confirmed. From drudge and fox.
Awful tragedy.
Pray for them.

I'm here in OKC. I work @ a WalMart north of where this all has gone down. We herded employees and customers to the back for an HOUR and a HALF waiting for it to get to us or blow over. As I'm sure most of you know by now: Fatalities are up to 51, at least 7 of which are kids at one of TWO schools that got hit. THANK GOD that the there were no children fatalities at the second school. As an Okie, thank you ALL for your prayers.

Meredith, good to hear from you. Y'all keep your heads up, help is coming. Probably not from the government right away, but from your brothers and sisters all around you.
