The Baptists are all grim and the Catholics are all smiling.
Make of it what you will.

I knew it. I knew you were a Bapto-Catholic, Angel! That must be one of the reasons Wirecutter gives you so much crap. I've made the same observation of grim versus smiles in my family tree. I don't think it's an accident. Like Hilaire Belloc wrote, "Wherever the Catholic sun shines, there's always laughter and good red wine." Ok, most of the time it's cheap wine... ;)
I grew up Southern Baptist. Believe me, the creed there is "if its fun, or could be even remotely construed as fun, then its a sin and we'll cherry-pick a verse to prove its a sin, or just canonize that its sinful and make vague 'you need to repent/pray/have faith' statements whenever anyone questions its Biblical sources".
I no longer associate with the S.Baptist church, due to the fact that I committed the most grievous sin ever....I read the Bible on my own and started thinking.
