From this to THIS?

I know there's no way to make a GMC into a Toyota,
so don't even go there.
Look at the rig.

hellish driving in a cross wind!!!

All the stuff on the deck is removable, and the railings look collapsable. So that would make it no bigger than a truck with a camper shell and ladder rack. Or the momvan. I drive a freaking box on wheels in the mother-lovin' Texas Panhandle. Don't talk to me about cross winds. ;-)

Someone used to make roof top tents, and building the platform to suit an existing tent would not be too difficult. Make it all collapsible..Plenty of room on the back deck for provisions, power if wanted etc... All you need to add is the ring mount for your 50.

I didn't want to get hit in the head by flying stuff but I like the winch on the tow truck would work as a yarder to get logs to the top of my mountain at the bunker.Don't hate me:)

Actually, srv, we'll be using it this spring to pull mesquite stumps on the two acres of fallback land I've got. It's removable. If you can figure out a way to make the camper removable too, make them interchangeable.

It's illegal to hunt from a motor vehicle in Oregon, unless you're handicapped, or being shot at by a bunch of criminal thugs shooting at you. The toy car is useless in my parts. Criminal thugs don't last long here anyway. They're kind of a trophy animal.

Yeah, there is, use the toyota symbol on the Chevy. razz :)

Seriously, if the Chevy had a 3 inch lift and 31's, it might be a good equivalent, but that would cost about 3 grand, depending on where the parts were purchased.

Skinny dipping in the lake, babe, who needs a hot tub?

OK, I thought it was dumb before, but now I want one.

So, I take it you're on board with the new rig now?

It will be limited by the lack of 4WD, but it has its prospects. I actually thought of it as an bug-out rig when I first saw it. Low ground clearance and 2WD would be an issue up here, though probably not so much in the mid-west.
