Paradise

There was a little swimmin' hole not too far from granny and granddad's in Archer City, TX where we'd go play every afternoon after chores. Until dark. Or the skeeters drove us home. So if y'all can remember doing this in your childhood, you had a GREAT childhood. And if you've done it recently, invite me over. I'll bring the munchies.

Raytown MO. The Pond. A waterlogged log was our boat. I wouldn't trade those memories for anything.

Kids today are so disconnected from the world it's scary. We are proud to call out now teenage son "an outside dog".

Dry Prong, Louisiana in a creek playing with water moccasins. Nay, mom wasn't real thrilled, but us boys were.

Heh. Just about any ole watering hole. Dad used to get pissed when we muddied up the cattle ponds. The Rio Puerco, even though it isn't much of a river. Or a nice mountain creek in Jemez. Fenton Lake. Oh, to be young again. And hiking out to the hot springs with a bunch of like-minded young ladies......
