Dave Ramsay has some helpful hints to keep the spending under control this Season. We stopped giving gifts a few years back. We get together, eat, drink, laugh, play cards and dominoes and enjoy each other. Very low stress and it's all paid for before Christmas.

Personally, I no longer celebrate Christmas. Not because I'm a Scrooge or atheist, but because: 1. the rampant commercialism of this holiday makes me sick and 2. The time of year, customs and traditions have absolutely nothing to do with the birth of Christ and are in fact based on pagan tradition.

Not to say I'm a complete ass about the deal, the wife insists on putting up a tree and getting a few things for the kids so I don't say anything about it. Just don't get me anything and don't expect anything from me.
